How a session works
Most people arrive having already seen the portfolio and knowing roughly what they want. That helps. It means the time goes on the work rather than on explaining the work.
BEFORE
We talk first, usually by email. I want to know what you are making and what it is for. If I am not the right photographer for it, I will say so and try to point you somewhere better.
THE SESSION
Two and a half to four and a half hours. Longer than most people expect. The first hour is rarely the one that produces the picture, and that is fine. It is the hour that makes the other three possible.
Studio in north Lisbon, or on location if the work belongs somewhere.
I shoot digital. Film is possible where the budget allows, but I am not going to push it on you.
AFTER
You get a selected, edited set. I would rather hand you fifteen images I stand behind than eighty you have to wade through.
Usage and licensing we agree in writing beforehand, so nobody has to guess later.
WHAT I TAKE ON
Portraits of artists, performers and musicians.
Performance and event work.
Designers who need their garments photographed properly, on people, as clothes rather than as products.
Brand commissions where there is something actually to say.
